2021 – Five-Day Open Tournament
The Tournament will be under the control of the Tournament Committee and its decision will be final in any dispute that may arise.
The maximum handicap allowance for any competitor will be 21.
No handicap alterations will be made between qualifying rounds. Although for matchplay and consolation rounds adjusted handicap will apply. Players have the responsibility to check and alter their own handicap following the qualifying rounds.
Tournament registration: please report to starter at least 15 minutes prior to your tee time.
Current handicap is necessary for registration.
All Scorecards must be returned to Match & Handicap Office immediately after completion of round where players must confirm score entry.
Competitors must notify the tournament administrator of their complete availability for Match Play stages.
Competitors are NOT permitted to play the course between the Monday and Tuesday qualifying rounds; Rule 7 – 1 – b applies.
If a competitor arrives late for his starting time: the starter will, at his discretion, try to accommodate the competitor at a later time and a TWO SHOT penalty will be applied.
The course will be closed for play at 4.00pm on Sunday 4th August to allow for course preparations.
Competitors have courtesy of the course on Sunday 4th August . For a practice round (played in fourballs). Advance reservations for practice round must be made to the Pro Shop. (Tel No 01667 452741)
Local Rules are displayed on the scorecard, club noticeboard and are available from the Starter’s.
Slow Play will not be tolerated and competitors are advised that penalties will be imposed for persistent offenders in accordance with the Rules of Golf.
Suspension Of Play – Rule 6-8G – If circumstances dictate that one round has to be abandoned, qualification will be based on a single round. If both qualifying rounds are abandoned, a single qualifying round will take place on the Wednesday and the qualifiers will be reduced to 16 in each section. You cannot win a Scratch and Handicap prize in the same competition.
Match Play results must be notified directly to the Pro Shop. Prize Vouchers will be issued immediately from the Match & Handicap Office to those losing in 1st, 2nd rounds and quarter finals.
Halved matches in the matchplay stages will be decided by continuing play from the 19th Hole, strokes will be given/received as if in the stipulated round.
Consolation competition entry sheets for Stableford (Thursday) and 3-Ball Better Ball Team (Friday) will be available from 9.00am on the Wednesday and Thursday respectively at the Pro Shop. The Committee regret that they cannot guarantee tee times for the Consolation Rounds.
Members and Visitors are reminded that a smart casual standard of dress is required both on the Course and within the confines of the Clubhouse.
Due to insurance regulations – Players cannot charge batteries on the premises. Distance Measuring Devices – R&A approved distance measuring devices ARE permitted to be used in the tournament.
